Leadlight textile mosaics

Create the glow of stained glass in fabric.

Use scraps of fabric and plain black cotton to build a jewel-toned textile mosaic.

During the workshop, you will create a small 12-inch square panel that can become a cushion cover, tote bag, table runner, wall hanging, or part of a larger textile piece.

Slow stitch journalling

Discover the possibilities of working small.

Explore fabric, thread and mark-making through a series of connected stitch sketches.

Working with linen or loose-weave cotton, you will learn how to design and fill a small piece of cloth, build a connected series, and begin turning a set of pages into a finished cloth journal.

Design and begin four individual textile pages.

Experiment with fabric placement, stitch and thread weight.

Develop pages as a finished piece or part of a larger journal.

Learn approaches that can support a longer creative practice.

Emm can provide 8-by-6-inch linen pages and needles suitable for a wide variety of thread weights.
